The Guardian London Graduate Fair from The Careers Group has an impressively diverse and wide-ranging exhibitor list for the upcoming autumn fair on 20 October 2009, proving that there are many good job prospects for graduates who are willing to put the work in. Visitors are already flocking to pre-register, to take advantage of this opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives from top employers, voluntary organisations and further study institutions.

The fair has attracted big names from a range of sectors including the BBC, Sky, Transport for London, Barclays, Abercrombie & Fitch, HSBC, the Civil Service Fast Stream, the RAF, BUNAC, FDM Group and EmployAbility, showing that vacancies are available in all industries.

Helen Bird, Sales Director at GuardianJobs says “All companies are facing challenging economic market conditions, which is impacting heavily on graduate recruitment but The Guardian is fully committed to importance of attracting, and retaining, the fresh talent that graduates offer to all organisations. All forms of recruitment have their place but events such as The Guardian London Graduate Fair from The Careers Group are essential for new entrants into the recruitment arena, and for recruiters to brand and showcase themselves in person.”

For visitors too, the face-to-face nature of the fair remains a significant factor in its success. Terry Jones, Careers Adviser at King’s College London states, “At a time when recruitment is increasingly migrating to the internet, here is an opportunity for students to look recruiters in the eye and discover background information that might help them to sharpen up their applications. And while a job offer at a fair is not the norm, it does happen to people able to show the right blend of knowledge and motivation.”
