Students at St Mary’s University College (SMUC) will soon hear how to succeed in a career in sport.The careers service at SMUC is managed by The Careers Group, University of London. SMUC was the first institution to take advantage of the expansion of The Careers Group to reach beyond the University of London and deliver careers and employment services in non UoL institutions.
On 25 February, the careers service at SMUC is hosting a Sport Careers Forum. Speakers will include the community development officer and coach from Harlequins Rugby Football Club and the operations manager for the London Marathon. Other events on the horizon at SMUC will cover Ethical Careers, Media Careers, Drama Careers and a generic fair entitled Experience Works.
SMUC is a Catholic Foundation with a mission to provide high-quality academic and professional higher education within a collegial ethos inspired and sustained by Christian values. The College is multi-displinary and especially noted for its excellence in sports studies and education. Last year its employment performance indicator benchmark was set at 94% and the College exceeded this easily, recording 96.8% of its graduates in employment or ful-time study six months after graduation.
